The Clinton Landfill Gas Collection and Combustion Project reduces emissions by capturing landfill gas that would, under normal circumstances, be emitted to the atmosphere and using it to produce electricity. The total installed capacity of electricity generation of the project is 3.2 MW, and the project sells generated electricity to the grid. However, the project only issues credits based on the avoided emissions rather than the electricity generation, which is a more conservative approach to issuance that reduces the risk of overcrediting.
Verra (VCS 318)
This project has little to no risk of reversal because its avoided emissions are not subject to being undone.
